Would you be interested in a handmade (sculpey + acrylic paint) kodoma figurine for $20 (includes S&H)?

Commission Information

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 22, 2008, 9:45 AM
  • Mood: Artistic
:bulletred: For current availability and openings, check out the latest journal on my main DA page. :bulletred:

I will take no more than FIVE commissions at a time. When the five slots are full up, I won't accept any others until one is finished. I won't queue future commission requests if the slots are already full. This will keep things on a semi-sane level for myself and it'll ensure that nothing and no one gets accidentally overlooked. Please check my most recent journal entry to see if there are any open slots. First one to claim that newly opened spot gets it.

PRICES:

Headshots/bust:
1 character, Clean lineart = $10 (ex: [link] )
1 character, Shaded lineart = $15
1 character, Colored = $20 (ex: [link] )
Additional characters = $10 each

Half to Full Body:
1 character, Penciled lineart only = $15 (ex: [link] )
1 character, Shaded (pencils or photoshop) = $20 (ex: [link] )
1 character, Inked lineart = $25
1 character, Colored = $40 - $60 (depending on styles, etc) (ex: [link] )
Additional characters = add $10 each
Background = add $5 - $30, depending on the complexity and medium

Full Body, Chibi
Chibi character, lineart = $10 (ex: [link] )
Chibis, colored = $15 each

Kodama = $20 each
(CURRENTLY, NOT TAKING KODAMA ORDERS)

PLUS SHIPPING, if you want the originals:
USPS = $4
Other = based on location

I draw on 8x11.5" printer paper unless you specify differently. If you know you will want the lineart mailed to you and would rather I use 9x12" Bristol board, let me know. Bristol board adds another $5 to the drawing and shipping costs.

Unless you commission colored pencil work, I will only be mailing non-colored lineart, and kodama. I don't have the right equipment to print out high-quality images of digital colors.

SUBJECT MATTER / STRENGTHS / WEAKNESSES:
I'm open to drawing almost anything, however I may refuse a commission due to subject matter. In such a case, I will explain my reasons and we can either alter or drop the idea. And, yes, I do accept fanart commissions.

My biggest strength is human characters, especially character portraits. I especially enjoy expressive faces and poses. I can draw animals and anthros with references, which I am fine with looking up. My favorite coloring medium is digitally in Photoshop (check my gallery to see if any of my coloring styles strike your fancy) but if you want traditionally colored work, I also use Prang colored pencil.

My weaknesses: Really buff guys, huge anime eyes, big city scenes, painted work.

DIGITAL WORK:
Traditional-media work will be scanned at 250dpi. The finished product will include a 250dpi hi-res version of the completed image AND one or two smaller resized images (if you request smaller sizes for your own use).

IMAGE RIGHTS:
The image is obviously yours to keep and use wherever/whenever you'd like. Unless you want to buy exclusive rights to the image, I will post the completed image in my gallery with all the appropriate owner rights/links. I'd really appreciate it if you linked to me (if you decide to post it somewhere) but I wouldn't demand it or anything. That's purely up to you. :) Again, yes I will draw copyrighted characters (Kim Possible, Nightcrawler, Aang, etc).

PAYMENT:
Two choices, here. After we discuss what you would like and I quote you a price you may either:

1) Pay half of the quoted fee BEFORE I start drawing anything, then pay the rest AFTER your picture is finished.
--OR--
2) Pay full amount of quoted fee UP FRONT.

I won't email out any hi-res picture until I have received the full payment. Once the picture is completed and I have received full payment, I will send you the 300dpi image and a resized image via email and/or lineart by mail. If you wish to receive the original lineart, shipping and handling costs will be added to the fee.

I accept PAYPAL payments only. My paypal account is phoenix_rising614@hotmail.com. Please put your DA name in the subject area so I know which commission project to credit. Please don't send any payment until we have both talked about the commission and agreed on the price.

No more FI-DOLLAH? :icongreennoesplz:
=phoenixelement:iconphoenixelement: Jan 22, 2008, 10:37:33 AM
Nope, sorry. That was a one-time thinger. I was working at less than minimum wage, because each picture took me about two hours total. That's like $2.50/hour.

They were pretty fun, and I might do something like that again when I have spare time and I'm doing okay on money. Because I do appreciate the people who watch my stuff and I know not everyone has the money or wants to pay for full-price commishes.

But for now. I really need rent money. So full price, sorry. :hmm:

If those photos of you I recently commented on are anything to go buy, all you should need to do is stand still and BREATHE and people should be showering you with money. Just don't go anywhere where they use those giant wheel-sized coins.
