Things are getting a little slow here on DA thanks to a bunch of final exams and research papers due for graduate classes. I'm a bit stressed anyway, since my last classes end in August and then in September I start my student teaching! Everything has to fit together perfectly to make the January '09 deadline for my program! *gnaws on her fingernails*

On top o' that, I still have to secure a summer/fall job. Obviously, I can't substitute teach in the summer, and in the fall I'll be paying the college to allow me to work at schools full-time every day. So I'll have to earn a living on evenings and weekends. I'm hoping I can find some bakery that's hiring... I really don't want to go back to corporate retail hell!!

Here's hoping I can make and sell little sculpey figurines in the summer and fall. I have an etsy.com account set up for myself, and Tom keeps pressing me to start on them now. All's I need is a solid free week and I could start a kodama army or something. Hehe.

In other news, my computer is now spontaneously shutting off. It doesn't look like it's overheating, and I just got a new power supply in August. Time to back up everything. I hope I don't have to buy a cheap "interim" computer to keep me going until I can afford another decent one.

Thanks for the interesting questions, guys! My character list consisted of:

Here are your questions: "

1. If 2 and 9 were living together, what would the house look like inside?
Conan and Daaniel would probably have to divide the house right down the middle. Conan is not much of a collector, but Daan is a bona fide pack rat! Daan would have all sorts of junk stuffed in every crevice and crack - everything from worn-out boots to costume jewelry to omgawesome rocks. Conan is pretty tolerant, but he'd go batty (haha) if he had to deal with Daan's crap (striped boxers stashed in the cereal cupboard, sheets of fake tattoos in the bills/receipts box, issues of PlayPirate in the bathroom) intruding on his personal space.

2. If 8 would wake up with 6 on top of them, what would their reaction be?
Amy-ninja would be scarred for life if she woke up to find Daerik on top of her. Thankfully, he's not such a lech that he would mess with her like that. He remembers the unpleasantries of his own childhood well enough.

3. And if 4 and 7 would go to a costumed party, and they had to match, what would they dress up as?
Selket would dress as a dominatrix, Gaebril would dress as her plaything. She loves her own sadistic role, and Gaebril would merrily hand his reins to a woman who could guarantee an exciting and unforgettable night.

4. If 9 and 1 would have to write a book together about their lives, and it would have to fit like one story, what would it be called?
How I Saved the World, and Had Fun Doing It. Phoenix and Daaniel would probably feed off each other's enthusiasm until their joint story departed from any semblance to reality.

5. If 5 and 2 would be abducted by hyper-intelligent aliens, in a most terrible way, how would they escape?
Conan and Jessie both have good heads on their shoulders, and neither is afraid to get physical when it is needed (thankfully, Jessie is a fireball and Conan has supernatural vampire strength). Neither of them would appreciate anal probes and they would definitely be able to work together to think their way free.

6. If 3 and 6 were to give each other compliments, what would they say?
Mikael: I'm sorry. For a moment, I thought you looked familiar. Then I remembered how much sexier I am.
Daerik: Hey, I like your... No wait, I'm totally better. Yeah. Never mind.
(Haha, perfect choice of characters!)

7. If 1 wanted to change sex, how would 10 react?
Ember is naive enough that she'd probably think that she was meeting Phoenix's brother, rather than a sex-changed Phoenix. She'd be so excited to meet a new friend, and regale man-Phoenix with all sorts of "true" stories in which she saved girl-Phoenix's life.

8. If 2 named his son/daughter Happy-Meal, what would 3 an 4 say about it?
If Conan named his daughter Happy Meal, Mikael would get a huge kick out of it. Then he'd get a bit nervous try to figure out how Conan could use this to overthrow him. Gaebril would be polite (barring a slight chuckle)...especially if Happy Meal was a pretty lady.

9. If 8 was hugged by 5, what would happen?
If Amy-ninja was hugged by Jessie, they would both start to worry that they had switched personalities accidentally. While Amy-ninja probably wouldn't mind a hug, she'd be worried that Jessie was acting way out of character. Jessie would be just as worried when she realized what she had done

10. Would 10 and 9 fall in love?
Ember and Daaniel are almost too much alike. But I think that even Daaniel couldn't really take Ember perpetual hyper giddiness and babbling. But Ember, she adores almost everyone she meets.

11. If 2 gave 5 a blowtorch, what would 5 do with it?
Jessie with a blowtorch is a scary thought. Although I'm sure she'd behave herself much more than I give her credit for. Daerik probably should be worried, though

12. If 7 was changed into a chipmunk with all of 7's current characteristics, only in a chipmunk's body, how would 3 react?
Oh my. If Selket was turned into a chipmunk, that would be one mean, sexy chipmunk. And Mikael? I think their deal would be off. He'd be simultaneously amused and dismayed. But I think he would put at least some energy into finding a way to reverse the transmogrification.

13. If 3 and 6 traded lives, how would they react?
If Mikael and Daerik traded lives, I'm sure they could become very comfortable in their new surroundings, very quickly. Both have amassed wealth and treasured objects. Both think the world of themselves. Daerik would have to be REEEEALLY careful at first, as he learned the finer points of "vampire politics." Mikael would also have to learn that his smooth tact and innuendos would mostly go undetected among Daerik's crew.

14. If 1 and 8 were stranded together on a boat in the Pacific Ocean that could only be sailed with more than two people with only the items they had on their person, enough food to last a week, and a device they could use to contact anyone OUTSIDE the solar system but no one inside it, what would they do/how would they get back to land?
Whoa. O_O Phoenix and Amy-ninja would make great traveling companions. Both have a lot of energy and resourceful (and strange) ideas. If nothing else, it would make the time pass quickly. They would probably try fishing by hand, play cards, fight over the strawberry jelly, and use the communication device often. Phoenix actually does know a few non-Earthling people and trans-dimensional entities, so she'd probably work on contacting them

15. If #1 made #10 dinner, what would it be?
Peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I'm sure Ember would be enthralled!

16. If 3 and 8 were characters in a fighting game and had a combo attack, what would it be?
Mikael and Amy-ninja's combo attack... Wow, that's a tough one. Um. Well, Mikael a a strong (and sexy) vampire. Amy-ninja is a zany ninjagirl-in-training. Amy could pin the opponent down with kunai and Mikael could make their brain explode with his extreme sexiness. It would be one of those inescapable combo attacks, where you scream "OH $@*^!" and throw down the controller as soon as you see it start.

17. What would 5 do if he was born a horse and had to serve as a mount for 6?
Oh man. Jessie as Daerik's mount. This can go badly in so many ways. Ahem. Handling this maturely.... Jessie would be a spirited horse, small but strong. She'd probably give a lot of sass, but end up being Daerik's favorite anyway.

18. If 1 and 7 were zapped with an alien ray and spontaneously became one entity what would that person be like?
Phoenix and Selket have been friends long enough that the singular entity probably wouldn't have TOO many problems. I think that person would be incredibly kinky (Phoenix = zany and fun, Selket = sexy) and would, in the same sentence, simultaneously attract and confuse her male target.

19. What did 4 want to become as a kid? Did the dream fade or come true?
When Gaebril was a kid, he wanted to be the hero in the bard's tales he loved so much. While he never completely lost that dream, he became a teller of those tales, rather than an active participant. He loves spinning his own versions of old stories and of course he loves the attention. When he meets Jessie & Co. it is this childhood dreams that fires up and pushes him to join the group in their adventure.

20. What is the favourite candy of 10?
Oh noes. Ember + sugar = City-wide evacuation. If Ember ever wandered into a candy store...I'm sure the world would end. Poof. The planet explodes in a huge nuclear mushroom cloud caused by her hyper-activity. But for the sake of actually answering the question: Snickers. Because Ember would immediately realize that Snickers are the Ultimate Incarnation of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Mmmmm...

21. What is the most hurtful thing 2 could say to 1, and would he/she do it? If so, in what situation?
If Conan was really trying to hurt Phoenix, he would probably bring up specific happy memories and tell her that he hated each one, despised her, detested her. That he was attracted to her at first but that she wasn't anything like he'd thought she'd be and he never actually loved her. Note: that is false, but it's the most hurtful thing he could ever create and say to her if for some reason he wanted to.

22. If 8 was to pick out a party-outfit for 3, what would it look like? What would 9 think about it?
Amy-ninja would be excited about helping Mikael pick out a party outfit!! She would probably find raver wear - mesh, raver pants, reflective strips, hair gel.... Daaniel would say that it needs more stripes.

Well, I'm all situated in Tom's (our!) apartment, I have a glass of ice water, there are two fuzzy little rats crawling all over me, and the floor is mostly clear! Life is good. I successfully moved out of my awful apartment this weekend. Consequently, this week has been very, very busy! Seriously, I now live right with him and this evening will be the first "sit down and relax together" time we've had in over a week.
