Yes, this is a pencil drawing
Here be Cap'n Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean, dontchaknow) as seen on the movie poster. Done in mechanical HB-lead pencil, went over the darker shadows with 3B drawing pencil, then darkened them further in PS6 to make up for a crappy overexposed scan. It's about 6"x6" on printer paper and took me 5 hours to finish. (Time well spent since I did most of this in the bookstore.)
